Every year on January 12, National Youth Day (Yuva Diwas or Swami Vivekananda Anniversary) is celebrated with full enthusiasm and joy in India. It is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, the creator of modern India. It was first announced by the Indian government in the year 1984 to celebrate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day.
