ISRO Achieves Great Success in Gaganyaan Mission, Successful SDM Hot Test
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) achieved great success by successfully conducting the first hot test of the System Demonstration Model (SDM) of the Gaganyaan Service Module Propulsion System. According to ISRO, this hot test was carried out for 450 seconds on Saturday at the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu. The systems are functioning properly. In addition to this, many of these tests are planned to be performed in different situations. Here too the circumstances will remain different. ISRO said the service module (SM) is part of the Gaganyaan orbital module and is located under the crew module and remains attached to it until re-entry. The SM powertrain consists of a unified bipropellant system. It has five 440 N engines and 16 Reaction Control System (RCS) engines, which is 100 N. Significantly, the Gaganyaan mission is the name of India's manned space mission.
