At a monument at Lethpora in the Pulwama region of Jammu & Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid homage to the 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Soldiers killed in the terror attack in 2019. Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, also lay a wreath at the memorial, paying his tributes to those killed in the Pulwama terror attack in 2019.
Amit Shah visited to the CRPF camp in Lethpora on Monday and spoke with security personnel. Shah stayed overnight at a CRPF camp and dined with the paramilitary personnel with Sinha.
"I wanted to spend time with paramilitary forces personnel, get to know them, learn about their experiences and challenges, and see their work ethic. That is why we shared lunch with our courageous warriors at the Lethpora CRPF camp in Pulwama and will spend the night with them "Amit Shah retweeted.
"We will be able to realize a peaceful Jammu and Kashmir as envisaged by Prime Minister Modi during our lifetime," Shah said, adding that the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir has much improved.
"We only notice stone-pelting instances when we go out of our way to search for them." There was a time in Kashmir when stone pelting was frequent. Such incidences have significantly diminished. But, as reported by the news agency ANI, Shah stated, "There is no need to be satisfied."
"Terrorism is treated with zero tolerance by the Narendra Modi government. We can't take it anymore. It goes against the grain of mankind. "Saving the people of Kashmir from those who are involved to this atrocious crime against humanity should be our top concern," he added.

40 CRPF men were killed after a suicide bomber from Pakistan's Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) smashed an explosive-laden vehicle into the bus, which was one of 78 vehicles in the convoy carrying roughly 2,500 personnel from Jammu to Srinagar. On February 26, India launched a counter-terror airstrike against a JeM training camp in Balakot.
On February 14, 2020, the CRPF's Training Centre at the Lethpora camp in Pulwama opened a monument with the names of all 40 jawans killed in the attack. Their photos are displayed beside the CRPF's slogan, "Seva and Nishtha" (Service and Loyalty).
